âEvery time something new comes up⊠I freeze.â
That was how she began.
A bright, insightful woman in her 40s, she had opportunities in front of herâexpanding her role at work, social invitations, even a chance to start her own small business.
But each time something new entered the picture, she found herself shutting down.
đ° The Pattern That Stopped Her
In our session, we mapped out what was happening.
Trigger:Â Something new appearedâan offer, a request, a possibility.
Response:Â Her body would tighten. Fear in her stomach. A need to wait.
Next:Â Internal dialogue. âWhat if this goes wrong?â
Then visual imagesâevery possible failure, every loose end.
Then overwhelm. Then avoidance.
And finally, the shutdown: âItâs easier to do nothing right now.â
When we unpacked the pattern using NLP strategy work, it became clear:
đ K (fear) â Ai (overthinking) â Vi (disaster simulation) â K (overwhelm) â Behavior (avoid) â Ao (âIâll do it laterâ)
It wasnât that she didnât want to grow.
It was that growth felt dangerous, because the only internal strategy she had involved scanning for risk.
đ§ So What Did We Do? (Download MP3 Here)
We didnât argue with the fear.
We listened to it, understood it, and then gave her something better.
I created a custom MP3 recording designed specifically for herâbased on her language, her internal process, and her desired future self.
The script guided her through:
Anchoring a calm, congruent state
Reframing her bodyâs fear as outdated but well-meaning protection
Visualizing herself as a gardener, not a hunterâgrowing gently, not chasing frantically
Future pacing moments where she responds to life with playfulness and clarity
She listened to the MP3 daily for 7 days, then weekly after that.
âš And Hereâs What Happened
She called me the next week and said, âI didnât even realize it, but I said yes to something smallâand didnât freeze.â
The spiral of fear had been interrupted.
Not by force. Not by pressure.
But by the slow, gentle voice of an alternative she hadnât known she had.
đ§ Is This You?
If new things make you freezeâŠIf your body overreacts to growth or opportunityâŠIf youâre tired of avoiding, but afraid to jump inâŠ
You might be running a similar pattern.
This clientâs transformation came from just one session and a personalized MP3 tailored to her nervous system and strategy.
