Addiction - Session Two

Addiction Session Two

Introduction

The problem with most addictions is that the relapse rate is high. If you fear falling into your old behaviors, or if it has already occurred, this session is for you.

Together, we will use hypnosis to create an emotional memory that gets triggered every time you are about to engage with your addiction. Remember, your addiction can be big or small. Either way, we will ensure the necessary safeguards are installed for you to overcome it and grow as a human being in the process.

Relaxation Preparation

The key element for hypnosis to function is your allowance to relax. If you don’t allow yourself to relax, you can never enter a state of pure relaxation. So let us begin by creating the intention to relax.

As you breathe in, reaffirm in your mind that it is all right to relax. It is completely fine. This time is made for relaxation. All your duties and responsibilities can wait. As you continue to follow the sound of my voice, you begin to feel calmer than before. Little by little, your body begins to accept that this time is made for relaxation. Likewise, your troubled mind begins to accept it as well.

You notice that the thoughts that pop up don’t manage to grab your attention like before. Your desire to relax grows stronger than the opposing forces that keep you in a loop of unresolved stress. With every breath, you relax more deeply. If your mind wanders, simply accept it. Your mind is used to being busy, but the best you can do is to keep breathing deeply and relax. Should you drift away, don’t be discouraged. It happens to everyone. Instead, make peace with the fact that your mind is learning to let go.

Visualization: Blue Energy

Now, imagine the air you breathe is made of blue energy, like water. See yourself breathing in water, imagining that you are standing on a surfboard and traveling down into your lungs. Notice how fresh the crystal-clear water makes you feel, washing away any tension or angst. Any inhibitions that prevent you from relaxing are swept away with the water as you breathe out. With each breath, the pureness of the water brings you into deeper states of relaxation.

A natural flow begins to rise within you, and emotions start to move smoothly inside. Tensions dissolve, trapped emotions are released, and it feels amazing. Soon, you’ll enter a state of deep relaxation where your conscious mind can rest, and your subconscious mind will become open and receptive.

That’s right—you are beginning to accept that this time is made for relaxation and only relaxation. Keep breathing effortlessly, and let yourself be guided by the sound of my voice.

Harnessing Energy and Power

Now, focus on the energy all around you. Pay attention to the energy in the room. Everything creates and absorbs different kinds of energy. Some energies are more positive than others. If you pay close attention, you’ll begin to feel that your state of mind is influenced by the energy around you. And here is the truth: you have the power to shape the energy around you with your presence and intention.

Begin to put yourself in a state where you feel powerful, as if you were on top of the world—completely untouchable. See yourself standing tall in front of a large crowd cheering for you. They all look up to you, believing you will lead the way forward. Feel the confidence and strength within you growing.

Understand that the power you need to overcome your addiction resides within you. If the enemy inside is beaten, no external enemy can defeat you. And right now, the enemy inside is the internal voice that tries to lure you back into old behaviors. Together, we will overcome it.

Descending into Deep Relaxation

See yourself standing in front of an escalator. It moves down slowly. At the very bottom, you see a door. It’s blue, with a white handle. Behind the door is something special—a garden you need to visit to grow strong once more.

In a few moments, I’ll begin to count down from 10. With each count, you’ll enter a deeper state of relaxation. When you reach the bottom, your conscious mind will be completely asleep, and your subconscious mind will be fully open to positive affirmations.

Take a step onto the escalator and begin to travel down:

10: Moving down the escalator slowly.
9: Noticing a change happening inside.
8: Feeling a deeper relaxation washing over you.
7: Calmer and calmer with every count.
6: Entering a state of profound relaxation.
5: Your conscious mind begins to settle.
4: Your subconscious mind begins to awaken.
3: Feeling more relaxed than ever before.
2: Your conscious mind drifts into a state of sleep.
1: You are now completely relaxed and standing in front of the door.

The Garden and Transformation

This door holds something back—an energy that needs to be released. The only way to release it is to open the door and step through. Trust yourself. Whatever lies beyond is meant for your growth. Feel the significance of this moment—the moment you commit to change.

Open the door now. As you step through, you are amazed by the view. You are in a beautiful, sunlit garden. There are vibrant flower beds on either side of a gravel trail. The sun shines brightly, spreading a warm, welcoming glow. Butterflies flutter past, and the air is alive with serenity.

Then you notice something extraordinary. In front of you, a large caterpillar is struggling to enter its cocoon. It seems troubled, needing something to initiate its transformation. The sun shines especially on the caterpillar, and you sense what’s happening. You must help it.

Walking toward the caterpillar, the gravel massages your feet, and your breathing remains calm. A connection forms between you and the caterpillar. It feels like you are the caterpillar, standing on the edge of transformation but hesitating to take the final step. Sometimes, we need help to push through the barricade of fear.

Healing the Cocoon

To your surprise, you see yourself in the cocoon. This is the part of you that resists change, clinging to what is familiar. Look deep into your eyes with acceptance and love. Recognize that while this part of you wants to hold on, it’s time to step out of your comfort zone and grow.

The unresolved conflict within you makes it harder to change. If you truly want to overcome your addiction, you know what to do: heal the broken cocoon. Imagine you have magical powers in your hands. When you touch the cocoon, it begins to glow gently. The holes in the cocoon disappear, and its colors grow brighter—proof that it is becoming fresh and alive. You see the process of change unfolding before your eyes.

Meanwhile, something deep inside you begins to shift. Emotions rise and are released with each breath. The old part of you, the one vulnerable to addiction, begins to fade away like wood burning in a fire. It simply dissolves.

Continue breathing naturally as your emotions settle. Observe the cocoon once more. Something inside is breaking free. As the figure within the cocoon struggles to emerge, you feel the same process happening inside you. A part of you is awakening. A part of you is breaking free.

This time, you must accept this part. Release it from the chains of your past. You are worthy of love, and nothing you do can change your past. The past exists only to provide wisdom. Understand that your past behaviors do not define your future. You are in control.

Returning to the Present

Feel a sense of certainty rising within you. You want to change, and you will change. Your addiction holds no power over you—not anymore. Your willpower prevents temptations from succeeding. With this newfound determination, take a step back and imagine, look at the sun.

The sun will always shine upon you, giving you strength to break free. When you are tested, use the power of the sun to resist your addiction.

Now, it’s time to awaken. Take this determination with you as you begin to return. Make your way back along the gravel path, and see the blue door approaching. Step through the door and close it gently behind you. Carry this powerful energy within you, knowing you can harness it whenever you need it. This energy can break your addiction for good.

Now, focus on the escalator once more. Soon, you will return to the present moment. Follow the sound of my voice as I count you back up:

8: Step onto the escalator.
7: Feel yourself returning to the present moment.
6: Waking up more and more.
5: Continuing to awaken.
4: Feeling a subtle urge to open your eyes.
3: Almost completely awake.
2: Fully present now.
1: Wake up and open your eyes.

Original Version

The problem with most addictions is that the relapse rate is high.
If you fear falling into your old behaviors, or if it has already occurred, then this session is for you.

Together, we will use hypnosis to create an emotional memory that gets triggered every time you are about to engage with your addiction. Remember, your addiction can be big or small. Either way, we will ensure the necessary safeguards are installed for you to overcome it and grow as a human being in the process.

The key element for hypnosis to function is your allowance to relax. If you don’t allow yourself to relax, you can never end up in a state of pure relaxation. So let us begin by creating the intention to relax.

As you breathe in, reaffirm in your mind that it is all right to relax.
It is completely fine.
This time is made for relaxation.

All your duties and responsibilities will be put on hold. As you continue to follow the sound of my voice, you begin to feel yourself getting calmer than before. Little by little, your body begins to accept that this time is made for relaxation. Likewise, your troubled mind begins to accept it as well.

You notice that the thoughts that pop up don’t manage to grab your attention to the same extent as before. Your desire to relax grows stronger than the opposing forces that keep you in the loop of unresolved stress.

But now, with every breath, you relax.

If your mind is giving you a hard time staying focused, simply accept it as it is. Your mind wants to do something else.

The best you can do is continue to breathe deeply and relax. Should you drift away, don’t be discouraged. It happens to the best of us. Instead, make peace with the fact that your mind is in a loop that prevents it from relaxing.

Now imagine that the air you breathe is made of blue energy, like water. See yourself breathing in water, imagining that you are standing on a surfboard and traveling down into your lungs. Notice how fresh the crystal-clear water makes you feel, washing away any tension or angst that you may have. Any inhibitions that prevent you from relaxing get flooded away with the water as you breathe out.

With every breath, the pureness of the water makes you enter deeper states of relaxation. A natural flow begins to rise inside, and along with it, emotions run smoothly within. You feel tensions being resolved, trapped emotions being released—it feels amazing.

Soon, you’ll enter a state of such deep relaxation that your conscious mind will regenerate energy and take a much-needed rest.
That’s right. You are beginning to accept willingly that this time is made for relaxation and only relaxation.

Keep breathing effortlessly, and let yourself be guided by the sound of my voice. I want you to focus on feeling the energy all around you. Pay attention to how the energy in your room feels. Understand that everything creates and absorbs different kinds of energy. Some are more positive than others.

If you pay close attention, you’ll begin to feel that your state of mind is influenced by your surrounding environment. And the truth is, you have the power to shape the energy around you with your presence and intention.

Begin to put yourself in a state where you feel powerful, as if you were on top of the world—completely untouchable. See yourself standing tall in front of a large crowd, cheering you on. They all look up to you, sharing a common desire that you will show the way forward.

Understand that the power you need to overcome your addiction resides within. If the enemy inside is beaten, no external enemy can defeat you. And right now, the enemy inside is the internal voice that tries to lure you back into old behaviors. Together, we will fight back.

See yourself standing in front of an escalator. It moves down slowly. At the very bottom, you see a door. It’s blue, with a white door handle. Behind the door is something special—a place you need to visit to grow strong once more.

In a few moments, I’ll begin to count down from 10. With each count, you’ll enter a deeper state of relaxation. At the very bottom, your conscious mind will be completely asleep. Your subconscious mind will be awake and accept the affirmations it hears.

Now, take a step onto the escalator and begin to travel down.

10: Moving down the escalator slowly.
9: Noticing a change happening inside.
8: Feeling a deeper relaxation washing over you.
7: Calmer and calmer you become with every count.
6: Entering a state of profound relaxation.
5: Your conscious mind begins to settle down.
4: Your subconscious mind begins to awaken.
3: Feeling more relaxed than ever before.
2: Your conscious mind enters a state of sleep.
1: You are now completely relaxed and stand in front of the door.

The door in front of you is holding something back—an energy of sorts that needs to be released. The only way to do it is to open the door and walk into the room. Regardless of what lies beyond the door, you need to walk through it.

Feel that this moment is special.

This is the moment where you decide to commit and push through.
Open the door now, and embrace whatever is inside.

As you open it, you are stunned at the view.

You are looking out over a beautiful, sunlit garden.
There are flower beds on both sides of the gravel trail in front of you.
The sun shines brightly and spreads a welcoming warmth over the place.
You’ve never seen anything like it.

The flowers stand tall in all types of colors: blue, red, purple, yellow, and white. A couple of butterflies pass you by. And then, you are struck by the most peculiar view of all.

In front of you, a fairly large caterpillar has started to enter its cocoon, but it looks troubled. It needs something to initiate the process of transformation. The sun shines especially on the caterpillar, and you sense what is happening.

You must help it.

You walk toward the tree where it rests. The gravel massages your feet, and your breath remains calm in this serene place, leaving you feeling peaceful inside. A connection between you and the caterpillar begins to rise.

You don’t know why, but somehow it feels like you are the caterpillar. You, too, feel on the edge of transformation, yet you struggle to take the final step. Sometimes in life, we need the help of others to push us through the barricade of fear.

You see the caterpillar clearly now, and to your surprise, you see yourself in the cocoon. You are seeing the part of you that doesn’t want to change, the part that resists your need to change.

Look deep into your eyes—look with acceptance and love.

A part of you is trying to hold on to what is known, but you need to step outside of your comfort zone to grow.

The unresolved conflict within makes it harder for you to change. If you truly want to stop your addiction, you know what to do: heal the broken cocoon.

Imagine that you have magical powers in your hands. When you touch the cocoon, it begins to glow gently, and the holes start to disappear. The color of the cocoon becomes brighter, proof that it is becoming fresher and more alive. A bright glow is revealed, and you see the process of change in front of you.

Meanwhile, something inside of you begins to turn. A range of emotions surfaces and is released with your breath. Something is changing within.

You can feel it.

The old part of you, the one that’s vulnerable to your addiction, begins to fade away like wood in a fire—it simply burns away.

You continue to breathe naturally and observe the cocoon once more as your emotions begin to settle. Something inside is breaking out.

As the figure inside tries to break out of the cocoon, you feel the same process happening within.

A part of you tries to wake up.
A part of you tries to break free.

This time, it is you who must accept this part, releasing it from the chains of your past.

You are worthy of love, and there is nothing you can do to change your past.

The past exists to provide us with wisdom—nothing more, nothing less.
Understand that your behaviors in the past do not equal your future behavior.

You are in control.

You can dictate what you wish to do.
Feel a sense of certainty rising from the depths.

You want to change, and you will change.
Your addiction holds no power over you—not anymore.

Your willpower to stop prevents any temptations from succeeding in their attempt to lure you into bad behaviors. With this newfound determination, take a step back and watch the sun.

The sun will forever shine upon you and give you the strength you need to break free. It will help you when you are being tested. Use the power of the sun to refrain from continuing with your addiction.

And with those words, you are ready to awaken.

Once more, take the determination to stop your addiction with you as you begin to gradually awaken. Make your way back to the path of gravel. See the blue door approaching fast and make your way through it.

Turn around and close the door gently. Take the powerful energy with you, and let it reside deep within. Understand that you can harness it whenever you need and want to. It can break your addiction for good.

Now watch the escalator once more. Soon, you’ll begin to gradually awaken. Follow the sound of my voice back into the present moment.

I’ll begin to count down from 8 soon. With each count, you’ll awaken more and more.

8: Step onto the escalator.
7: Feel yourself coming back to the present moment.
6: You are waking up more and more.
5: Continuing to wake up.
4: Feeling a subtle urge to open your eyes.
3: Almost completely awake.
2: Completely awake.
1: Wake up and open your eyes.
